About the Author

 

 

Artist Michel R. Doret, throughout his life has been dedicated to Art and Culture.

 

Born in Haiti 74 years ago, he studied for several years in the Facultad de Artes y Arquitectura de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogota, D.E. and received later several degrees in the U.S.A., including among others a Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Arts and Science at the George WashingtonUniversity in Washington D.C.

 

He then remained very busy doing research, writing and art, in various places of the world, especially Europe, including France, the U.S.A. and Haiti. Publications of his prolific creation in books and artwork have crowned his dedication. He has recently published  three new books in French in the U.S.A.: Aliénation dans la poésie d’Haiti du XXe siècle, a Lexique créole-français and André Rigaud, la vraie silhouette.
